Not Shocking in the Least
Posted by Garance ()The outrage that people are expressing over the presence of questioners with campaign affiliations during the Republican CNN-YouTube debate is depressing. Where has everyone been over the last four years? The idea that average everyday citizens would be able to submit questions to a national political forum without having to compete with the more sharply-worded and compelling products of people with a stake in the outcome of the contests in question goes against everything we’ve learned over the last four years about who is engaged with online media, and even who participated in sending in questions to the earlier CNN-YouTube debate.

Garance, I think the shock is that they’re all from the opposite side of the aisle (and not advertised as such.) People hate being lied to or fooled — labeling people as “undecided” when they aren’t just ain’t right.

“People hate being lied to or fooled” said Klug.
This is true and this is why the GOP-Republican candidate won’t have but a prayer in the ‘08 election. Americans have suffered for 7 years under GOP-Republican rule.
Let’s quickly review the seven years of GOP-Republican rule… A terrorist attack which killed 3,000 in NYC, DC and PA. A perpetual war in Iraq based on lies costing us dearly in life and treasure (treasure we borrow BTW). Large scale Fourth Amendment violations. Torture and the absence of habeas corpus for prisoners. Constant fear peddling by the GWBush administration and GOP-Republicans as well as the U.S. corporate media. A government with a checks and balance system that has turned into a black-hole due to the Executive Branch of the U.S. government and lack of balls from the Democrats to hold the GOP-Republicans accountable(Nancy Pelosi, most especially… yes the Democrats have faults too). Lack of immediate response to Katrina. The outting of a covert CIA agent by several members of the GWBush administration. Climate change denial due to the corporate profit taking priority over the people. *We the People* is gone from America. Now it’s all about corporate profit margins, *We the People* can go to hell as far as the GOP-Republicans are concerned.
Jumpin’ nipple rings, if the Democrats can’t beat the fascist GOP-Republican party there is no god-damned hope for the citizenry. Any fained outrage by the GOP-Republicans on any issue… any issue is best laughed at. They are much more entertaining and realistic when you view them as comics. When Duncan Hunter proclaimed during the CNN You-Tube debate that most military enlistees are from *conservative* families, I LMAO. I could have yelled at the T.V. and been upset by his blatant lie but laughing is the way to go, no sense getting mad at a clown for being ridiculous. Like GWBush pushing for peace in the Middle East, these old white guys are clowns who put on a suit and tie with a shiny U.S. flag lapel pin as their costume. It’s no small wonder a big story of the CNN You-Tube debate is the gay veteran who wasn’t a GOP-Republican party member but was allowed a question anyway. Who claimed the gay veteran was *undecided*? How/when did his *undecided* status come up? Furthermore, what does his *undecided* status matter? Oh the horror, Klug.

I’m shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!
“Let’s quickly review the seven years of GOP-Republican rule… A terrorist attack which killed 3,000 in NYC, DC and PA.”
I don’t think you can blame that on the GOP any more than you can blame it on Bill Clinton.

Peter K, I look to the anti-terrorism czar under Clinton and then GWBush, Richard Clarke. He had 30 years of government service. He thinks GWBush was negligent in regard to 911. GWBush demoted him so he retired. Do you use the Google??? Try *RICHARD CLARKE*.
It may be arguable as to whether the GOP-Republicans vis a vie GWBush have any responsibility for 911 yet I do think the president, at least once in his life should publicly accept responsibility, since he was our president and Commander in Chief at the time. Maybe I’m the only one with this pet peeve.

The Rethugs don’t tolerate dissent. They want softball questions from brainwashed Kool-Aid drinkers.
This is like the tightly-controlled audiences hand-picked for Dubya’s appearances, who gush and fawn over him. Any potential dissenters are barred from attending, forced to sign loyalty oaths, forcibly ejected, or even physically assaulted. You end up with a docile, compliant audience who cheer Dear Leader’s every moronic utterance.
The Goopers would have loved the Nuremberg rallies. Nobody asking Der Führer any tough questions. Thousands of people soaking in hate and propaganda. All that’s missing today is the brown shirts and the armbands.
